The town hall and museum area provides a chance to orient yourself before the rougher sections. Notice how streets leave the central space and remember a useful direction for returning. Treat monuments along the route as places of local memory, giving others room.
The museum combines historical and ethnographic material with works by Pirosmani. If art matters more to you than fortress stairs, give it the main share of your time. Check visiting arrangements separately before making an indoor visit the anchor of your day.
See how church and fortress connect
At Saint Stephen, the waypoint sits at the foot of the external staircase. You can observe the setting without making a climb to the church or tower compulsory. Notice how a small religious building relates to a larger defensive structure.
The later section shifts from town streets towards fortifications. Instead of trying to cover every wall, trace how the stonework follows the terrain. Views around Saint George and the eastern tower explain why a short line on a flat map may involve effort.
Keep the rough approach optional
Steps and an uneven path lead towards the eastern tower. Assess the actual surface and passage, particularly after rain. If that section feels unsuitable, omit it: the square, streets and church settings already form a worthwhile outing without reaching every planned stop.
The itinerary does not assume an uninterrupted wall-top path. The northern gates and Bodbe are outside this sequence. Avoid adding them as casual short extensions; each has different geography, road conditions and its own demands on the time available.
