On your device

Walk completion, favourites and language preference are stored in localStorage until you delete them or clear browser data. No account is required. Backups are files you choose to download; importing a backup does not upload it to a server.

Map providers and hosting

Opening the map contacts OpenFreeMap for map tiles, fonts and map symbols, and Mapterhorn for terrain. Providers receive your IP address and requested tile coordinates. These describe the viewed area, not a GPS reading. The site does not request device geolocation.

OpenFreeMap normally does not log IP addresses; incident logging may last up to 30 days. Mapterhorn retains request logs for up to 30 days. The site is hosted on a Contabo VPS in the EU. Routine web request logging is disabled in Caddy; the server and hosting provider still process connection and security data. Provider retention must be established with the project operator.

Analytics and advertising

Optional analytics and advertising are disabled in this version. No Google Analytics tag is loaded. Interface fonts are hosted with the site.

Links and assistant access

Google and Yandex Maps open only when you follow their links and then use their own policies. Compatible browser assistants may read or change the current city and route marks through the page tools when you use such an assistant.
