Read buildings beside the water

After Maiden Tower, the walk reaches the waterfront and Mugham Center. Notice the change from a compact historical landmark to more open surroundings around contemporary buildings. Begin with silhouettes before moving closer to a selected façade, rather than chasing every possible viewpoint

At the Carpet Museum, the rolled-carpet form connects the exterior directly with the collection’s theme. Separate the architectural pause from an exhibition visit. If entering, reassess the time remaining for the ascent; a substantial museum visit can become the day’s principal experience

Decide about climbing while still below

The relatively level boulevard gives way to slopes and stairs towards Highland Park. Continuing depends on energy, water and weather. A gentler outing can finish on the waterfront with a separately planned onward journey

From above, the coastline’s curve can be compared with the streets and building outlines below. Visibility and comfort depend on conditions. Illumination and sunset plans require current checks and enough time for the return

Respect the mapped connection

Between Highland Park and Martyrs’ Lane, the route detours along mapped paths and stairs. A direct connection between nearby points is unconfirmed. The memorial area calls for a considerate pace and behaviour

Flame Towers complete the architectural theme with an exterior view. The final approach passes beside a vehicle driveway, so watch for traffic. Entry to the complex is not assumed. A suitable viewpoint often reveals the overall silhouette better than standing immediately beneath its façade

Before the walk

  • Check actual wind and sun conditions before spending long periods on the exposed waterfront
  • Nearby map points do not prove a short staircase connects them
  • Leaving the hill needs remaining energy and an onward navigation plan
  • Between Highland Park and Martyrs Lane, the route follows a detour along mapped paths and stairs for about 450 m. A direct passage between the stops is not confirmed
  • Flame Towers are viewed from outside. The final approach passes beside a vehicle driveway; access inside the complex is not confirmed

Check hours, tickets and access with each venue. Barriers may change the track and queues may add time. Accessibility has not been surveyed on site

Questions before the walk

Check its operation independently before changing the plan. This walking itinerary includes the ascent and does not assume transport availability

Is a visit inside Flame Towers required?

No. The stop is for exterior views. Use an available pedestrian approach and watch for vehicles near the driveway
