Distinguish Bibi-Khanym Mausoleum from the mosque of the same name: they are separate buildings in the catalogue. At the mosque, begin with the scale of the portal from a permitted viewing distance. Then choose a smaller decorative area. Moving between the whole building and one detail gives you more than a single oversized souvenir photograph.
Use Siyob Bazaar as a change of pace. Its marker indicates the southern approach; exploring the rows requires extra time. Before entering, decide whether you want a short pause or a longer market visit. Keep some of the day for Shah-i-Zinda if that is your main interest, and reorient towards the next mapped stop afterwards.
Save attention for stairs and tilework
At Hazrat Khizr, allow for the climb and steps; the neighbouring Islam Karimov mausoleum is a separate stop. Slow down, let others pass and pause outside narrow approaches. These are religious or memorial places, so choose viewpoints that respect people visiting for prayer or remembrance as well as your own wish to take photographs.
At Shah-i-Zinda, if admission is available, compare ceramic surfaces gradually: an entire façade, an entrance border and one pattern. There is no need to view everything at the same speed. Use the official entrance. If it is closed, finish at the approach instead of seeking a cemetery shortcut. Wear suitable shoes for stairs and plan the journey back separately.
