Poi Kalyan square
Start at Kalon Mosque. From the accessible part of the square, find an overall view of the minaret and Mir-i-Arab before looking at brickwork and portal details
The mosque, minaret and madrasah markers are close together. They mark different viewpoints within the ensemble rather than three required indoor visits
Through the trading dome to the madrasahs
Continue from Mir-i-Arab towards Toki Zargaron. The dome marks the transition from the square to the trading area. Keep to the permitted passage without blocking shop entrances
Ulugbek and Abdulaziz Khan madrasahs follow. Compare their portals from the space between the buildings. The final stop is at Abdulaziz Khan Madrasah; the return to the mosque is outside the track
Exterior views and admission
The route is planned around exterior sightseeing. Check courtyards, museum rooms and the active madrasah separately at each entrance. A single ticket for all stops has not been confirmed
The minaret climb is not included. Uneven paving and thresholds mean a short distance does not establish a step-free walk
Map and stops
The numbered markers match the stops below. A marker does not guarantee an open entrance
Access: Approach or exterior view; admission to the interior is not confirmed

Separate the square from a mosque visit; check courtyard access and visitor rules at the entrance

The Kalyan minaret, built in 1127, anchors the Poi-Kalyan ensemble beside Kalyan Mosque and Miri-Arab Madrasa
Start with the minaret from the square, then view the mosque and madrasa facades; do not plan a tower climb without confirmed access

The madrasah opposite Kalyan Mosque is part of the principal architectural ensemble
Begin with the facade; do not assume access to teaching rooms

Before the walk
- Carry water for the open square
- For the shortest version, stay within the Poi Kalyan ensemble
Check hours, tickets and access with each venue. Barriers may change the track and queues may add time. Accessibility has not been surveyed on site
Questions before the walk
Are ten minutes enough for Poi Kalyan?
Ten minutes is the calculated moving time for the full track. Sightseeing, photographs and interiors need additional time
How can the walk continue to Lyabi-Hauz?
Open the separate Lyabi-Hauz to Chor Minor route on the Bukhara map. The connection between routes is outside the current 500 metres
Sources and verification
Written by walkymap from remotely checked sources. No on-site walk is claimed
