Start on Strelka

The starting point is Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The route begins across the Oka from the upper city centre; the journey from the Kremlin over Kanavinsky Bridge is not included

The mapped line is about 530 m, with roughly 10 minutes of walking. Allow 40–70 minutes for exterior stops and time by the water. An exhibition or concert requires additional time

From the cathedral to the Packhouses

View the cathedral from the square, then follow the paths towards the metal exhibition structures. Entering the church is not necessary to complete the route; respect services when visiting inside

The short distance does not establish step-free access: the line includes some steps. Check available paths on arrival, especially when temporary barriers are in place

Look at the old metal frame

The Packhouses retain metal structures from 19th-century exhibition pavilions. They now house a concert hall and gallery. From outside, look at the joints and repeating supports, then compare the frame with the newer volumes inside

The outdoor walk does not require an exhibition visit. For admission, check the relevant venue’s programme, tickets and operator notices: the concert hall and exhibition Packhouse have different programmes

Finish at the confluence

From the Packhouses, continue to the landscaped tip. Strelka sits where the Oka meets the Volga, with views across the water towards the Kremlin and the high riverbank

The finish is beside the water, not back at the cathedral. Allow separately for returning to the start and travelling to the centre. During events, follow open paths and keep clear of barriers
