Near Kalyan Mosque, find a permitted position that includes the minaret and Miri-Arab’s façade in your view. Notice the relationship between a tall vertical landmark, the surrounding buildings and the open square. Only then move closer to one façade. This gives individual patterns a scale and makes your photographs easier to place afterwards.
At the minaret, shift from the outline to the brick surface. Pick a small area and follow its repeating pattern. You do not need to stand against the tower or find a way up it: the walk is designed around an exterior view. Give Miri-Arab attention of its own rather than using it only as a backdrop.
Finish with a direct comparison
Use Toqi Zargaron as a change of scale between the squares: observe how the dome frames the passage and the flow of people. At the Ulugbek and Abdulaziz Khan madrasahs, compare portal shapes, the concentration of decoration and quieter areas of wall. Choose one detail that you could recognise again without consulting a label.
Reserve most of your spare time for Poi-Kalyan and the paired madrasahs. Shopping and interior visits need separate pauses. Paving and entrance steps mean a short distance should not be read as step-free access. If a doorway is closed, continue observing from public space and use the next mapped stop to keep your bearings.
