At the Camondo Stairs, look at how the curves guide movement between street levels. Wait for a clear moment to take photographs instead of occupying the steps. The Galata Tower then gives you a useful visual reference uphill, although you should follow the actual streets rather than trying to walk directly towards its silhouette.
Near the tower, decide whether you most want an elevated view or time in the surrounding neighbourhood. Entering the tower is a separate visit. Pera Museum offers another possible change of pace before İstiklal, where you can return to looking at façades. Give the avenue some attention of its own before reaching Taksim Square.
Plan around the climb
Allow small pauses on the early slopes before tiredness builds up. If your group walks at different speeds, agree on a break near the tower. This is not a verified step-free route: finding an alternative to the staircase would require separate checking and would change the walk displayed on the map.
On İstiklal, stay aware of the tram and other pedestrians. Choose a side for browsing rather than crossing repeatedly for photographs. Check the museum programme and admission arrangements if you want to go inside. In wet weather, pay attention to grip on sloping paving, including any downhill return you choose after the walk.

Questions before the walk
Do I need to go up the Galata Tower?
No. The tower remains a useful exterior landmark. Tickets, queuing and a visit to the observation level are separate decisions.
Is this a Bosphorus waterfront walk?
No. It focuses on Galata, Pera and İstiklal. It does not replace a waterfront itinerary or include a crossing to the other side of the city.
