History through a street and monument

The Boris Gaponov monument connects the walk with translation and cultural exchange. The synagogue remains a religious space: exterior viewing does not imply open admission or permission for indoor photography. In the residential street, study façades without looking into private courtyards

Take the hill gradually

After the synagogue, continue towards the northern St George Church and the domed Mtsvanekvavila church. The ascent changes the familiar view of Kutaisi around the White Bridge. Pause to observe the city’s terrain, showing restraint around cemetery and church areas

Stops in route order

Central Garden “Boulevard” — A historic city garden with paths and monuments to Georgian cultural figures. Use the garden paths for a short break between the theatre and square

Ishkhneli Sisters monument — Sculptural group of singers beside the Central Garden. A short stop between the garden and theatre streets

Kutaisi Synagogue — A synagogue in the historic Jewish quarter on Boris Gaponov Street. The walk includes an exterior stop; arrange entry locally
